Gather the Generations Over Dinner

Can I share something I’m really excited about coming up?

We got an idea from the Modern Elder Academy to host one of their Generations Over Dinner special events in my local area.

I firmly believe that one of the best ways to make the world a better place is to learn to work together, teach the younger generations what we’ve learned in our decades of life, and learn from them as well with their fresh perspectives.

If you’ve been wondering how you might do something to make a difference in your own community, then Generations Over Dinner even offers scripts to make this easy!

Intergenerational Dinner Scripts

These dinners aren’t just about gathering a group of different ages to sit down and eat together. The goal is really to inspire meaningful conversations across different age groups, to help us get better perspectives on the reality of each other’s lives and experiences.

Co-founder and CEO of Modern Elder Academy Chip Conley firmly believes that “The power of cross-generational connection and collaboration could genuinely improve the world, and we’re thrilled to help create a platform that encourages shared wisdom.”

In order to make your own dinner successful, they’ve provided three different dinner scripts to help the conversation flow. You can choose from three main topics – Purpose, Love and Relationships, The Future – and there are three different scripts to choose from within each of those main topics.

I love the questions that they include in the scripts, including thought-provoking ideas like “What would you do if you didn’t need to make money” or “What do you want to be remembered for.”

Host Your Own Intergenerational Dinner

If you like the idea of hosting your own dinner, you don’t have to put in a crazy amount of work to do so. Generations Over Dinner has included a step-by-step guide to help you host a successful dinner.

In the guide, they’ll teach you to create the event, how to invite guests (and who to include), and even how to prepare for the event so you can be sure that your dinner will be a success.

I’m so looking forward to hosting my own intergenerational dinner soon. You should join me in bringing this to your own community!

I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by what we can all learn from each other.
